one of the brightest rising stars in American alpine skiing,
Stanley Buzek started skiing at the young age of two with his parents at Crested Butte. He was instantly drawn into the sport through its feeling of freedom and strong community. Prior to the team, Buzek’s biggest accomplishments included winning the U18 Nationals slalom title and scoring a top-30 result in his first NorAm, but his aspirations are strong.
In the 2023-24 season, Buzek had a stellar performance at the Junior World Championships slalom race, where he took fifth place. He also achieved one of his season goals, a NorAm podium, which he secured in slalom. In the 2024-25 season, Buzek continued his build in slalom where he helped his team parallel squad and team combined duo snag bronze medals at the Junior World Championships event. Buzek also ended the season claiming second in the U.S. Alpine Championships event in slalom. Buzek is currently ranked second in the slalom discipline in his birth year. When Buzek is not skiing, you can find him mountain biking fishing or skateboarding

Quick Facts:
Buzek once dreamed of racing on the World Cup circuit as a seven-year-old, and he made that dream come true with his first World Cup slalom start in Levi, Finland.
His first experiences on skis were so early that he doesn’t remember them, but he grew up skiing weekends with his family at Copper Mountain in Colorado.
After his family moved to Minnesota, where there wasn’t much freer skiing to be had, Buzek trained gates intensely at Buck Hill, going straight there after school every day during the winter.
Alongside racing on the U.S. Ski Team and competing internationally, Buzek is also a student and teammate on the University of Colorado ski team, which he says helps him keep perspective and enjoy life beyond results.
Even as he became a serious racer, Buzek says that hitting jumps and skiing moguls for fun as a kid is what really deepened his love for being on snow.
